The Cakes

All my cakes and fillings are freshly prepared using only finest ingredients, including free-range eggs, Fairtrade sugar and British butter.

I offer a number of flavour combinations, with different options available on request.

Here are just a few:

Victoria sponge: A traditional Victoria sponge cake, filled with vanilla buttercream and strawberry or raspberry conserve and topped with fresh fruit.

Chocolate: A classic chocolate sponge cake, filled with rich chocolate flavoured buttercream.

Madeira: A sponge with a firm but light texture, traditionally flavoured with lemon, vanilla or chocolate.

Lemon drizzle: A zingy lemon cake, drizzled with sticky lemon syrup to give the sponge a lovely moist texture, and filled with lemon curd.

Chocolate beer cake: A rich, moist chocolate cake made with Stout and filled with 70% dark chocolate buttercream. Delicious hot or cold and served with or without fresh fruit and/or ice cream/cream.

Carrot and walnut: A lightly spiced sponge kept moist by the carrots, delicious filled with orange or vanilla buttercream.

Coffee: Coffee sponge sandwich filled with an espresso buttercream. Or for a slight twist use chocolate buttercream for a mocha cake.

Rich dark fruit cake: My tried and trusted recipe made several months in advance for extra flavour. A rich, dark and moist fruit cake, fed with brandy and coated in a layer of natural marzipan.

Special dietary requirements

*All dietary needs catered for upon request, including gluten or dairy free.
*Sponge cakes do not contain nuts (unless otherwise stated), but there may be nut traces present.
*Fruit cakes contain alcohol and nuts.
